地域で子どもを育てるとは。

まず、子どもを育てるのは、親の役割。

幼いときから、ミルクをあげて、離乳食を作って、ごはんを作って、住む場所を与えて、服を買ってあげたりする。

つまり、衣食住を与えることだ。

地域で子どもを育てるというのは、見守るという感覚で言っていると思う。

また、この「地域」という言葉の中には当たり前に親が一番に入っているから「育てる」という言葉を使っているのだと理解している。

安全に毎日、家に帰られるように。

もし家に誰もいないのなら一緒に過ごしてあげる人がいてもいい。

地域コミュニティがあれば、なんでもできるかもしれない。

コミュニティがどうだこうだっていう人の言葉が信じられない自分だったが、今になって自分がその言葉を発していることが不思議でたまらない。

福祉の問題・子育ての問題、その他あらゆる問題において地域コミュニティがあれば少しはいい方向に進むだろうと感じている。

隣のおばちゃんがおかずをくれる。

本を買ってくれるとか、

子どもながらに、あのおばちゃん色々くれたよねーというあの感覚。

親戚や友達ではなく、同じ地域に住むというだけの共通点だけ。

”近所の大人が自分たちのために、なにかしてくれる”

大人ってやっぱりすごいな。かっこいいな。あんな大人になりたいな。

そう思えるようになれば、何かあった時に相談できる人も身近にたくさんいるだろう。

まずは小さな地域を。

私はこの東住吉・杭全の地域を変えていく。

隣の文教地区とやらに負けるものか。

そのために、今までもそしてこれからも子どもたちと共に学んでいくんだ。
