自分を知ろう

同じ時間、勉強してもなかなか暗記できない。

計算が遅い。

などなど、それぞれ悩みはあるでしょう。

私も恐らく、暗記は苦手な方だし、そろばんの使い方も学校の勉強でも出てこなかったし、自分でも勉強しなかったので、暗算もできない。

しかし

その代わり、人よりも暗記に費やした時間は多かったし、暗記するための工夫をした。

暗算が出来ない分、いかに工夫して計算するか、もしくは立式の段階で簡単な計算になる方法を選ぶようになった。

自分がどれだけ時間をかければ単語を覚えられるのか。

それを知ることが大切。

それを知るために勉強をしていると言っても過言ではない。

受験を、近い目標の一つと考えているならば、それまでの時間を逆算して勉強を進めようとしているならば、まずは自分を知ること。

そして勉強をすることによって、前の自分より点数が上がったならば、自分を認めてあげること。

他人と比較した時点で負け決定だ。

私も何度も他人と比較をしてきた。

色々なことを比較しては自分が誰かより劣っていることをコンプレックスに思ってきた。

自分だけではなく自分の置かれた環境までもを比較していた時期もあっただろう。

とにかく昨日の自分よりも前にすすむこと。

それだけを意識するようになると、もう周りは関係ない。

他の人のことで自分の気持ちを左右されることもなければ、迷うこともなくなった。

やりたいことをひたすらする。

今私がやっていることがまさにそうだ。

高校生の時もそう。

ただやりたい科目だけをひたすら勉強していた。

成績も偏っていたし、勉強しなかった科目で第一志望が不合格になったことも自分でよくわかっている。

しかし、今この仕事をする上では、自分の好きな科目をひたすら勉強してきたことが一番の糧になっている。

好きを伸ばすことの大切さ。

とかく、全部を平均的にあげることのどうでもよさ。

学校に行っている間は残念ながら、それが大事なんだが。

勿論、できないよりはできたほうがいい。

しかし、全部平均的にできるくらいなら何かで突出している人の方が素晴らしい。

今まで、偏っている素晴らしい人に出逢ってきた。

偏りをやたら均そう（ならそう）とする大人に邪魔をされないようにと願っている。
