20歳になったとき、思っていたよりもまだまだ大人と言える自分ではないなと思った。

しかし、30歳になった時は違っていた。この10年間、自分がすごく成長したようなそんな感じだった。

 

そこでやっと気づいた。20歳の時にそれを感じられなかったのは、きっと自分が学生という甘えた身分だったからであったに違いないと。

高校卒業してから社会に出た人にとっては、20歳の自分は大人だったのではないだろうか。

 

20代の10年間は本当に成長できた10年間だった。

子育てと平行して自己成長のために時間を使い続けた。

幸せだったかどうかなんて不毛だ。毎日毎日、その一瞬一瞬、自分が信じるもののために行動し続けること、それ以外には何も求めてはいない。

 

人生において何に時間を使うかなんて人それぞれ。

 

やらないことを決めることの重要性に気付いた。

仕事をしていて嫌になることはあるし、他人のせいで自分がなぜか怒られることもある。

その中で文句を言って同調してくれる同僚との時間に価値があるだろうか。

自己成長につながるだろうか・

 

私は、人を信じる、基準を決めている。

それは、何かに対して努力をしている人かどうか。

努力をしている人は、素直にかっこいい。予備校や塾で真剣に勉強を向き合っている生徒を見ると本当に輝いてみえる。真剣に取り組んでいるかなんて一目瞭然。まるでマンガのように輝いて見えるのだ。

色々な人に出逢っていくことも大切である。

しかし、どれだけ優秀で素晴らしい人であっても今この瞬間に努力をしていない人とは関わらない。

そうやって関わる人を限定していくと自ずと私の周りには愚痴を言う人もいなければ過去を懐かしんでいる人もいない。

今、そしてこれからのことを話す人に囲まれている。

教育を変えたいという旧友との野望は今もまだお互い前進し続けている。

高めあえる、今の自分の置かれた状況を瞬時に受け入れて、「じゃあどうしようか？」という言葉を言い合える人とだけの関係を構築していきたい。
