夏休みにしてほしいこと

もうすぐ夏休みですね。

また今年もダラダラ過ごしますか？

それか去年あたりからメリハリのついた休日の過ごし方を実践していますか？

学生の方であれば普段よりも部活の練習が長かったりと大変な毎日かもしれません。

理想的な夏休みの過ごし方を実践するために気を付けてほしいことをまとめていきます。

 

はじめに

部活をしている人に気をつけてほしいことがあります。

まずはその話から。

 

部活をしているあなたへ

部活をするという経験は本当に素晴らしいものであり、大人になると、あれだけ仲間と何かに打ち込める機会というものは他にないと断言できます。

部活なんかせずに勉強しかしてはいけないというようなことは全く思いません。

部活は集中力を養い、仲間とのコミュニケーション能力を得ることができます。

また若い頃につけた体力というのは、大人になってから得るのは難しい、これから生きていくための資本になっていくでしょう。

しかし、部活をしている人の中ではｋちがえている人がいます。

それは部活をやってあげている感覚の人です。敢えていうと、部活はやらせてもらっているのです。

部活をしているから如何にも、もうしんどい、勉強できないというのは大きな間違いです。

部活をしている分だけ、その分、ゲームなどを諦めて勉強に励まなければいけないのです。

もしこの話を聞いて、だったら部活休んで遊ぶわと思うならそうした方がいいと思います。

私は部活に関する本当に価値はそれだけではないと思うのです。

 

部活の本当の価値とは

部活という活動も社会勉強の一つでしょう。団体としての行動についてももちろんそうですが、それだけではありません。

それは大人になってからとることが難しい、バランスというものです。

部活に行かなくてはいけない。

でも勉強でテストの点もあげなければいけない。

そのジレンマの状態を感じて、うまくバランスをとっていこうとする、いわゆるマルチタスクです。

大人になれば、そのジレンマが3項間で行われるようなトリレンマを感じることだってあるでしょう。その練習をしていくのがまさにこの部活をいうものだと思うのです。

社会にでてからその狭間で苦しんでいる人はたくさん。学生の頃からシングルタスクではなく、マルチタスクの状況に慣れておく必要があると思う。

その社会的なつながりにおいても、自分のやるべきことを優先させるためのバランスのとり方という面について多くの得るものがあるように思います。

 

学生に言いたいことは部活は休んでもいいということ。

それは先生ではなく自分が決めるもの。

自分の行動・自分の人生は自分で決める。当然のことです。

 

ここからは本筋に戻っていきます。

 

夏休みにやってほしいこと

夏休みというのは少し長めの休暇です。毎年旅行に行く人も多かったのではないでしょうか。普段行くことは難しいところへ行くというのはいい経験にもなります。

今年の夏休みは例年よりも短くなっていることはいうまでもありません。

しかし、実際に集団免疫を手に入れつつあり、そして当初からの目標であった、重症患者を急増させずに医療崩壊を起こさせないためという目標達成ができている中、経済収縮が未だに行われていることにはもうこの国の終わりすら感じざるを得ない。

 

それはさておき、長期休暇の間にできることは果たして旅行だけでしょうか？

そんなことありません。夏休みに必ずやって欲しいことがあります。

それは宿題以外に普段やれないようなことをすることです。

 

何をすればいいの？

ひと夏の思い出という言い方をするとなんだか甘い恋物語になってしまいそうだが、その夏を象徴するものが何なのかということだ。

出された宿題をやって、部活に行って・・という誰もが行うことではなくて、

ここに関しては、自分がこの夏休み、学生の中で一番やったって言える！！というようなものを作ることです。

目標は、学年トップにこだわることです。

例えば、5科目の合計点数が学年5位の人と、数学は学年トップだけれども、5科目にすると30位という2人がいるとしましょう。

どちらに人になりたいかというと、私なら後者になりたいと思う。というかまさに高校生の頃の私がそれであった。

 

ただ数学が得意なだけで数学に関して友達から質問がたくさん来るし、高校3年生の夏には多くの有名大学の問題も解くことができた。

数学の先生からは信頼されるし、なぜか、勉強ができるというイメージを持ってもらうこともできた。数学ができるだけでなんでもできる感じがでる。

数学は人類の必須アイテムだと思っている。

 

それは、1科目でもいいから学年トップであるとう事実だけであった。

逆に全体でどれだけよくてもパッとしないのだ。

学校のテストで学年トップをとるのはやはり困難である。

しかし今回の提案は、用意されている科目ではなく、自分が勝手に決めた分野で学年トップをとってほしいということである。

お、できるんじゃないかと思ったあなた。

最高です。

そんなあなたのためにこんなのでもいいのよという、ものを挙げていきたいと思う。

ビジネス系の本を読む

以前からこのブログでも書かせて頂いていますが、中学生にもなれば、自分で言葉の意味を調べながら文章を読むことは可能です。

今までは何かミステリーの本であったり雑誌などを読んでいた人も多いかもしれません。

それをビジネスの話に変えるだけです。

私も初めてビジネス書と呼ばれる書籍を読んだのは小6の長期休みでした。

なんか大人っぽい話で子どもながらに、こんな大人もいるもんなんだと感じたのを覚えている。

まさにその出会いが大切であると考える。

どのような本を読めばいいか悩んでいる人がいればおすすめの本を挙げておこう。

※学生の方向けなので極力、文庫・新書を選んでいます。

①本音で生きる　一秒も後悔しない強い生き方　堀江貴文

②僕たちはもう働かなくていい　堀江貴文

堀江さんの本は新刊がでれば必ず読むようにしている。

彼の本は、かなり先を意識した書き方で学べることばかりだ。

③僕は君たちに武器を配りたい　エッセンシャル版　瀧本哲史

きっと500円で人生を変えたいと言われればこの本を選ぶだろう。京大准教授の瀧本さんが若者に向けて語る一冊。これからの生き方がわかる1冊である。学生必読の一冊。

 

お金のいらない国を読む

お金のいらない国　長島龍人

上記のビジネス書とはまた別の世界観の本。

子どもの間にこの本と出逢って欲しいと願う1冊。この本を読んで自分なりの30年後の世界を創造してほしい。きっと今までになかったクリエイティブなものになるに違いない。

 

宇宙に関心を寄せる

宇宙のことどのくらい知っていますか？

私は宇宙に興味を持ったのはかなり遅い。大学生になってからだ。大学時代宇宙工学を得意としている大学に通っていたため、植物の実験においても飛行実験などの機会を得ることができた。その時に無知な自分を恥じて学び始めたのがきっかけだ。

きっとそこまで詳しい人は身の回りにいないはず。ぜひこれらの本を読んでもらいたいと思う。

①宇宙に命あるのか　小野雅裕

「私」とはなんなのか。「私」はどこからきたのか。その疑問の答えを与えてくれる一冊。

②はやぶさの超技術　川口淳一郎監修（ＪＡＸＡ教授）

③はやぶさ　そうまでして君は　川口淳一郎

なんとなくニュースで見て一時的に盛り上がるミーハーだけにはなってはいけない。

学校のテストで名前だけ聞いてくる先生に教えてあげよう。

昔天体系の時事問題で答えられなかった私は悔しくて意地になって冥王星のことをやたら調べた記憶があります。

名前なんてどうでもいい。そこにあるドラマを知ることで宇宙に思いを馳せてほしいと思う。

また今年の末には帰ってはやぶさ2が帰還するだろう。その時にミーハーたちが騒ぎ出す前にはやぶさのことを学ぶのもおもしろいのではないだろうか。

 

哲学書を読み漁る

まず哲学とは何か。

簡単に言うと、人生・世界、事物の根源のあり方・原理を、理性によって求めようとする学問のこと。学問の根幹であるといえる。科目に分かれているようなものではなくて、学ぶ姿勢・さらに生き方そのものにも関わってくる考え方だと考える。

大人でも読むのが嫌になるものもある。その中でも学生でも読めると思う哲学書を紹介したいと思う。

①14歳からの哲学　考えるための教科書　池田晶子

色々なテーマに沿って導いてくれる1冊。時間のある時にこそ読むべき本。

②クマのプーさんの哲学　Ｊ.T.ウィリアムズ

少し困難な内容でもみんな大好きプーさんを元に話が進んでいく。大人にも読んでもらいたい1冊。

 

1つ上の学年の問題集をやってみる

一番のオススメはこれである。

自分がまだやっていない内容のテキストをやってみるのはおもしろい。

一度、学校の授業なしで自分で勉強をしてみるということをやってみてほしい。きっと学校での授業の有り難さに気付くだろう。

自分で学習していくことの大変さを身を持って体感してほしい。

 

とにかくすぐ行動

さあ、迷っている暇はありません。今からこのブログを閉じる前にどれにするかを決めて本を手配すること。

普通ならやらないことにチャレンジすることに意味がある。

私も学生の頃の夏休みには毎日ネットで検索しておもしろかった記事について書いたものをノートにまとめてみたり、学校の提出物以外の作文コンクールに作品を提出してみたりと学校の外を意識した行動をしてみた。

そう。学校の外に意識を向けてほしいのです。

毎日行っている学校が人生の大半を占めてはいけません。学校は一部であるという認識を持つことです。

自分が普段使っていない問題集をやってみるとまた別の解き方を知ることができるかもしれません。

自分は学校の中の一人なんていうミクロな視点ではなく、この社会の中での自分を意識するのです。

そうやって自分のことを知るための素敵な機会にしてほしいと思う。
