拡張性のある行動とは

拡張性のある仕事とはどういったものか。

例えば、個別指導のような仕事をいうものはそれ自体は拡張性がない。

しかし、そこでの教え方を生かして違う場面で拡張性を高めることはできる。

どのような仕事でも拡張性を意識し続けなければいけない。

 

たとえば、どこのグループにも一人はいる資格マニア。

資格をとってその先をイメージできているならまだしも、何もない人が結構多い。

そこまで多岐に渡って勉強していながら、それから先を考えられない所を見ると、まさに学校教育の弱点に気付く。

そして点と点を繋げられない大人の存在に気付く。

 

必要以上の暗記なんてするもんじゃないと思う。

しかし、こういうことを言うと本当に何も暗記しない人もいる。

 

サッカーのルールに関する話をするときが典型的な例だと思う。

オフサイドという決まりごとがある。それは、相手チームのディフェンスの最終ラインを越えた所で仲間のフォワードがパスを受けてはならないというルールである。

この内容を知ったうえでサッカーをしないと、自分の知らないところ反則扱いされる訳である。

つまり、何かのスポーツをする時には必ず何かしらのルールを学ばなければいけないということである。

 

ここでサッカーにおける最低限のルールとは、キーパー以外、手を使ってはいけないということになるだろうか。

 

しかし、手を使ってはいけないということは、まさにサッカーそのものであると考える。数学でもこのようなことを「定義」という。

その次に、その定義から派生するようなルールのようなものを、定理という。

今回のその定理にあたるのが、オフサイドだと考える。

オフサイドというものをそのままの言葉で理解するのも勿論正解だ。

しかしそうではなく、なぜこのようなルールができたのだろうと考えることが重要だと思う。

何ごともなぜそうなったのか。それを考えることによって、そりゃ、そうしなきゃいけないよねと、定理を自分で導きだすことが可能になるのだ。

 

オフサイドは例えば相手が攻めている時に一人だけゴールの前に残って、味方がボールをとった時にロングパスを出してもらい、そのままゴールという形をとってしまうことを無くすためのルールである。

一言でいうと、ゴール前での待ち伏せ禁止という、ごく当たり前の誰でも思いつくようなことなのである。

 

その理由を把握していれば、ややこしいルールなど二度と言わなくなるし、そのルールを忘れてしまうといったようなことは無いだろう。

 

勉強も同じである。すべてを覚えようとした時点でもう、一般の人は勉強ができなくなる。

どこを覚えて何を理解するのか。そのすみわけが大事だと思う。

 

話は逸れてしまったが、結論を言おう。

暗記ばかりの人生ではいつまでたっても拡張性のある仕事はできない。

拡張性のある仕事とは、知っていることから新たなものを生み出すことだ。そこには真似など存在しない。

 

今勉強をしている人は、今後、拡張性のある仕事をするための準備であることを認識して行うとよい。

今自分のとっている行動が今後、何百倍にも膨らまないのであれば、それはやるべきことではないとはっきり言える。

 

先の見えない行動はもうやめよう。

アウトプットのあるインプットを行っていくことは間違いなく今のあなたを成長させるだろう。

常にアウトプットを意識する。
