問題意識をもつ

同じ情報を見てどう思うか。それは人によって異なっている。

中学の頃の塾の先生が、例えば、満開の桜を見てどう感じるかという質問をした。その時に人がとる行動は3つに分かれると言った。

①他の事に気を取られていて桜に気づかない人

②桜に気づくが何も感じない人

③満開の桜を見て春の訪れを感じる人

この3人のあなたはどれですか？という質問を先生はした。

この時、周りの事に関心を寄せて問題意識をもっているのは③の人だけである。

では問題意識をもっていなければどうなるのであろうか。

例えばとても重要な事実に出逢ったとしてもその重要性に気づかない人にとっては聞いていないのと同じなのだ。つまり、常に世の中の事を知り、自分事でないことを自分事のように考えて、理解し、応用していく姿勢が必要なのである。

一体自分は何を知りたいのか。世間が何を欲しているのか、何がまだ解明されていないのか、どんな事実がわかればその後どんな道が開けるのか。こうした問題意識がなければ、発見というものはあり得ないのである。

常にその先を妄想しておくのである。想像という言葉では物足りないと思う。

妄想レベルまで私たちは豊かな思考力を兼ね備えていなければならないのである。

その思考力を手に入れるための魔法の言葉がある。

何か新しいことを知るたびに、

っていうことは・・・？

と自分に問いかけるのである。

この思考遊びは永遠に続く。昔流行ったマジカルバナナみたいなものである。何かを始めとし、どこまでいくかわからないものをつなげていく。その過程に何かおもしろいものが転がっているかもしれない。

昔、河原できれいな石を探して、こそっとポケットにしまったりしなかっただろうか。

大人になるとお金を手に入れ、何かきれいなものを手に入れたいと思って、宝石がいっぱいの箱を探してはいないだろうか。

そのあたりに転がっている石ころの中にも素敵なものはたくさんある。みんなが持っているキラキラしたものではなくて、自分だけの石をみつけて、それを自分で磨いていくことが一番おもしろいのではないかと思うのだ。
