題名通り、私は狭い世界にいた。

その時の私は狭い世界にいることさえも解っていなかった。

小学校受験を経て、自分がいる環境が世の中のミニチュア版だと信じてやまなかった。

学校にいるみんなは、勉強ができて、泳ぐことも走ることもできた。

自分にできることはみんなもできる。そんな環境でいた。

親が自分優先でご飯を作ってくれたり、早く眠れるように合わせてくれていた。

しかし、大学で外の世界に出た私はその時、初めて自分のいた世界が狭かったと感じた。

勉強できる環境があるのは当たりまえではなく、大学に進学できることも当たり前ではなかった。

耳の不自由な人と過ごす時間もあり、全てが当たり前ではなくなっていった。

そして、得意・不得意はあるものの何でも自由にできる自分は、人のために努力しなければいけないことを知った。動ける間はずっと動き続けよう。そう決めた。それが社会における自分の役割だと思っている。

学生の間は、足が不自由な方も共に農業ができるような室内栽培の研究にも携ることができた。

社会人になってからは、障碍者の方が働く場所に行くことも増えた。

体が不自由だから、何もしたくないなんて思っちゃいない。

自分ができることをしたい。

自分も社会の一部として、役割を担いたいんだという気持ちが溢れている。

世の中には多くの人がいて、様々な人がいる、

全てを受け入れ、自分が置かれた状況を認識し、行動していきたい。

それが行き方・生き方になっていく。
