新しいことをするときにしんどくて、でも諦めずに前に進んだ経験がありますか？
もちろん、億劫なことから逃げるのも一つの戦略でもある。
しかし、壁を乗り越えてみたほうがいいときもあると思うのだ。
それが若いときであればあるほどよい。
若いときは失敗しても、失うものも少ないだろうから。
大人になってからの失敗より、傷は浅いだろう。そしてそこからの学びは大きい。
私は、30歳になって漸く自分で責任をとるということを経験した。
1つ1つのことを全て自分で決断するという経験は初めてで今年になってからはその経験を生かすことができ、より一層行動することができた。
今将来の完全な目標を持っている人なんて信じないほうがいい。そんなもの状況によって変わるだろう。たらればの話なんてナンセンスだ。
私たちはいつも毎日を後悔しないように生きていくこと以外することは何もない。
今日の一日が終わる時に、今日の自分、よく頑張ったよなと思える、自分自身に誇れる1日を送ることだ。
時間を大切にできない人は命を大切にしない人。という言葉を聞いた時、始めは言いすぎでしょと思った。しかし、次第にその言葉の意味を理解できるようになってきた。
死んでしまう直前の数分も、今私たちが適当に使っている数分も同じなのだ。
そう思えば、時間を粗末になんて扱うことなんてしないだろう。
そして、人の時間を短縮してくれる商品を開発してくれている企業は間違いなく、私たちの時間を守ってくれている観点から、寿命を延ばしてくれているといえるだろう。しかも、体が自由に動く、若い頃の寿命を。
時間を大切にしてほしい。それは命であり、人と一緒に過ごす時間ならなおさら。相手の命も奪っていることになるから。
冒頭の話に戻ろう。何か一つの壁を越えてみる。たとえ越えられなくったっていい。もう少しだけ低い壁なら越えられるかもと思えるだろうから。
それを越えることができればもう少しだけ大胆に考えられる新しい自分を知ることになる。
そうしたら次は前に越えられなかった壁を越えられるに違いない。
私にはできない、ではない。
変わるのは相手ではなく、いつだって自分だ。
